PROGRAM NOTES

From time to time, I experience an intense feeling of sudden happiness, which occurs spontaneously and usually lasts for no more than 10 seconds. While this work aims to depict this adrenaline rush, it also suggests the peculiarity of such an emotion, in which I have difficulty putting into words.

 

This work was written during the winter, a time which I heavily associate with the holiday festivities. Additionally, the music was heavily influenced by John Williams's "Somewhere in my Memory", from "Home Alone." I associate snow and winter with fond memories, childhood, and meaningful experiences.
