PROGRAM NOTES
The sky darkened, and the stars glisten in the distance. An aura of blue light surrounds the moon, and its glare overpowers the dark unknown. A blue spotlight peers through the silhouettes of branches, as the rustling leaves accompany the nocturnal glory. A rarity, a blue moon harmonizes with the warmth of the air under the luminous sky.
The note, C-sharp, plays a large role in this piece. I sees colors in music, and this note is blue. The blue note adds color to the harmonies and textures in the piece, as it spreads the blue light shining off the moon to create a painting in one’s mind. The sustained C-sharp on the last note fades away, as the azure light slowly disappears into the waning night.
