PROGRAM NOTES

The Ghost Crabs of Ponte Vedra was inspired from a vacation in Ponte Vedra, Florida. Each night, ghost crabs would crawl across the shore and burrow in and out of the sand with their hairy legs and translucent, yellow shells. Interestingly, ghost crabs are one of the fastest crab species in the world. When walking along the beach at night and approaching one of the crustaceans, it scurries off and disappears into the darkness, returning to the ocean.
