PROGRAM NOTES
This work is based upon improvisations that I recorded on Voice Memo during my time in college. I have always enjoyed improvising at the piano, as it is a large part of my process and identity as a composer and pianist. In other words, improvisation often leads me to new ideas, new pieces, and emotional satisfaction.
While I made some small edits, I transcribed the improvisations by listening to each of them multiple times, transforming the audio into music notation. I did this because I would like to share my improvisations with others and so that other pianists can play them.
Each movement could work as a stand-alone work, or they could be played in a set.
