PROGRAM NOTES
The early morning fog is rising. A wispy breeze stirs the leaves and cools the early morning air. On Lake Kawaguchi’s surface, slight ripples in the water reflect a fragmented sky. The outline of a white and billowy swan emerges out of the fog. Lost in its innocence, it gently and playfully disperses the ripples. An ominous sky slowly creeps in, bringing dark clouds and an uninvited chill. The swan, expanding its wings, quickly disappears into the fog as the air grows dark and agitated. So too, does Lake Kawaguchi. This disruption is soon to pass; the sun brings in the warmth, as the water now reflects a clear sky. The fog has lifted, and another day awakens.
