PROGRAM NOTES

Ragtime is often associated with early twentieth-century piano music. The rhythm and syncopation in ragtime music gives it energy and excitement. Uplifting music can ease tensions as we face the challenges of the current times. My piece aims to highlight the concept of a ragtime for solo clarinet in the twenty-first century, and most importantly, to elicit good vibes.
